LO1 setting up equipment

We practised positioning the camera when on a tripod, so that when we are on location we are able to film steadily, at the same level and use different movements. To utilise our time we only used equipment that will be used when filming so that we are fully prepared when we are on location, which will mean that we he gets a higher understanding as to how the equipment works and we well avoid any incidents such as trips and falls. This could lead to damage to both us and equipment. Using this equipment will also mean that our documentary itself will look more professional and camera movements become more fluid, especially when panning.

This microphone attachment, along with the windscreen on the mic, will be used when filming our documentary, especially when we are presenting information.

Using this attachment, will ensure that the audio quality is increased and all the important information is fully heard by our audience. The windscreen will also eliminate any background noise when we are filming on location, most importantly wind, as this will decrease the overall audio quality and mean that the detail well not be audible. Additionally, we can use software to enhance the quality, but the microphone attachment will mean that time taken to edit the audio will not be as long and time consuming. We also plan on taking precautions to avoid any breakages to the equipment and performing risk assessments so that no damages are done, this will include knowing how to set the equipment up efficiently and correctly.

Additionally, we decided to a look at how different camera lenses will influence how the shot looks overall. This may help create different moods within our documentary. When taking shots of the location, different lenses can be used especially when we need to get a closer view of the environment that we are filming at. This will mean our short film is more interactive and interesting.

Finally we looked at different lighting fixtures and how they can influence the subject dies being filmed and how it affects the tone of the clip. Specific precautions need to be taken place when using lighting specifically LED attachments as they are fastened by screw so we will need to ensure that it is attached properly or otherwise we could face breakages to the equipment. By understanding how light fixtures work when attached to a camera, we are able to ensure that our film has uniformed lighting, we can make certain that the people that are within each clip are seen clearly and we will also be able to Make sure that the light isn't too bright.

This health and safety was placed on other equipment that we plan on using also, which will mean that we avoid any legal action as the equipment does not belong to us. However, we deem this precaution necessary as we will be using different attachments and equipment in multiple locations so we need to ensure that we keep others out of danger and we know how to operate the equipment correctly.
